A belief worth building on

Local is a place.
And a connection.

100% Local begins with a clear purpose: help people discover products genuinely made or produced in the communities they represent, and the people behind them.

Starting close to home

A little more story.
A little closer to home.

When we know the person behind a product, we see it differently. We understand the hours, the choices and the care. What might have been just another purchase becomes a connection to someone and somewhere.

That’s the idea behind 100% Local. We want to bring the stories of genuine local makers into focus, beginning in Darwin and the Northern Territory.

Documentary-style films and thoughtful photography will help tell those stories. Over time, a marketplace will make it easier to discover and support the work itself.

The people behind 100% Local

Local stories.
Decades of experience behind them.

100% Local brings together Ian and Jennifer Richards’ experience in filmmaking, television advertising and marketing. Through Small Screen Productions and TV Works, their work spans documentaries, commercial production, audience research and social media campaigns.

They’re bringing that experience to a new purpose: helping genuine local makers tell their stories, build connections and reach new audiences.

Direction & cinematography

Ian Richards

Ian brings direction, camera craft and hands-on production experience to stories about people and place. His work combines the visual care of documentary filmmaking with the clear communication of commercial production.

Producing & project development

Jennifer Richards

Jennifer develops projects, builds relationships and brings the people and practical elements of a production together. Her producing experience helps turn a first conversation into a thoughtfully planned story.

30+ years of production experience and working relationships.

That is the experience described by TV Works — the established campaign and production business behind this new chapter.

You bring the craft. We bring the skills to help people discover it.

What this means for your work

One national idea. Many local stories.

Every community
has its own character.

Our ambition reaches beyond the Territory — to regional communities throughout Australia. Each region should feel like itself, with its own people, materials, traditions and new ideas.

We’re starting small, listening carefully and finding the makers who want to be part of the first chapter.

An invitation to local makers

Be part of the story.
From the beginning.

Genuinely made or produced in your community? We’re bringing the first local makers together. This is your invitation.
